John Henry and
Anna Elizabeth (Barron) Rigdon
This is the story of John and Anna Rigdon of Waterloo, Iowa and their twelve children: Lee, Neal, Ruth, Jay, Ethel, Myrtle, Russell, Irene, Ruby, Paul, Marie and Norma.
John Henry Rigdon was born to Dallas and Elizabeth (Adkins) Rigdon on November 2, 1877 in McLean County, Illinois. He had three older brothers and three younger brothers and two younger sisters.
Anna Elizabeth (Barron) Rigdon was born to David Austin Barron and Josephine (Chorpenning) Barron on July 24, 1881 on a farm two miles north and one mile east of the St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Anna had a twin sister who died as an infant. She had four brothers and two sisters.
John and Anna were married February 25, 1903. John died on November 4, 1941 and Anna died March 21, 1962 and are buried at Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.
The descendants of John and Anna get together every year on the third Sunday of July for a reunion and noon meal. There are well over 600 descendants and significant others of John and Anna.
John and Anna had 12 children; 58 grandchildren; 123 great grandchildren; 163 great great grandchildren and 14 great great great grandchildren (as of February 2008).
